ociety for Development of Films & Arts (SO-
DEFA) organized a Festival of Art & Culture
Sfrom November 15 to November 27, 2022 in
Chandigarh. Giving details about the festival, Mr.
Suresh Pushpakar (General Secretary, SODEFA)
said that the festival kick started with an Art Exhi-
bition organized in the underpass of Sector 16-17
Chandigarh.
Former Chairman of Chandigarh Sangeet Na-
tak Akademi Mr. Kamal Arora inaugurated the
Festival of Arts & Culture. Art lovers enjoyed the
Paintings, Sculptures and other form of art works.
More than 60 proficient artists from the region who
participated in the exhibition, which will be contin-
ued till 28th of November for the visitors.
The Second day of the festival was ‘Literature
Fest’ organized at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
It was dedicated to literature where 24 Famous Po-
ets like Kamal Arora, Manjit Indra, Nirupama Dutt,
Prem Vij, Sunaini Sharma, showcased their talent in
forms of Poetry. Stage actor Suresh Pushpakar, Inu
Sharma and famous Poetess Seema Gupta conduct-
ed the Stage. SODEFA honored the participated
poets on this platform.
The Third day was the ‘Theatre Festival’ held
at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, wherein three in-
teresting plays were showcased. Further describing
about the plays, Mr. Pushpakar said that the first
play was named as “Main Chala Jaunga” (I will
Go- but will revert back soon with more Energy
and Enthusiasm) which was Scripted & Directed by
famous actor/director and artist Mr. Suresh Push-
pakar along with actor Surender Saini, showcased
in this play the problems of artists who are dealing
with Government machinery to get financial and
other support. The second play was named as “Pied
Piper Kahan Hai” (Where is Pied Piper) which was
scripted & directed by Subhashish and the third
play was “Mast Maula” directed by Ritika Chande-
lia. Audience was seen super interested and enjoyed
all the plays. Mr. Raaj Rahhi, Director /Producer
from New York was the Chief Guest and Mr. Anil
Aggarwal was Guest of Honor on this occasion.
