BIHAR ELECTIONS WIN
MODI’S BIG

social, and strategic project—one that strengthens PM Modi’s national grip and
sets the stage for a push into West Bengal

was not just another elec-
Ttoral win. It was a political
statement, a strategic renewal, and
a demonstration of how Narendra
Modi’s electoral machine continues
to reinvent itself with each new bat-
tle. With 202 of 243 seats, the NDA
demolished the Mahagathbandhan,
revived the BJP–JD(U) partnership,
delivered a historic turnout led by
women and youth, and exposed glar-
ing vulnerabilities in the opposition. It
also signaled something larger: Bihar
was not an endpoint but a launchpad.
Modi made that clear the moment he
declared that the “Ganga that flows
from Bihar will now carry the BJP to
victory in Bengal.”
This was an election fought on
development, women’s empower-
ment, law-and-order memories, youth
aspirations — and an opposition alli-
ance that collapsed under its own
contradictions. It was also an election
