Five Frontline Heroes awarded at Jewel
of India’s Annual Doctors Day gala
Gala evening included musical performances by IFAB Award-winning singers and youth talent
invited by IRFAN ALI of Sa Re Ga Ma fame

ewel of India hosted its second Annu-
al Doctors Day Celebration on April
J1 at Jhopri Restaurant in Plainsboro,
New Jersey. The Red-Carpet Gala eve-
ning included musical performances by
IFAB Award-winning singers and youth
talent invited by IRFAN ALI of Sa Re Ga
Ma fame. A sumptuous dinner buffet was
served by Jhopri Restaurant.
The Highlight of the event was rec-
ognition of five frontline heroes who have
made a difference to the society. The Five
Awardees have dedicated their lives all
year along to support and well-being of
community members and their families.
Dr Akshata Kamath is an anesthesiol-
ogist in Bayhealth Dover, Delaware, sup-
porting a Charity at Vivekananda Public
School in Hyderabad which provides free
education to the underprivileged kids.
Dr Umar Farooq, who has been
awarded Physician of the Year 2022 by Jef-
ferson Health System, has private practice
in Bensalem, PA, for more than 20 years.
Dr Rajan Gupta, who is a pain special-
ist in New Jersey, is involved in a nonprofit
NJ company REINVENT LIFE for the
underprivileged people.
Venkat Krishnan is a Biomedical En-
gineer who was in Engineering Innovation
marketing and has set up global centers.
Lastly, Nayana Bhatt is a Medical
Technologist in Hackensack Meridian
Hospital who says she is blessed to serve
patients.
All the award winners spoke about
their contribution to the society. Dr Ka-
math praised IFAB for such a unique con-
cept and recognition and Dr Umar Farooq
expressed his interest in hosting the event
in coming years. The Organizers Juhi and
Anil Jagiasi stated that doctors dedicate
their lives for others and so on the Nation-
al Doctors Day it’s our chance to give back.
All in all, it was an entertaining night with
great food, music and ended with award-
ing deserving FRONTLINE HEROES.
