            JASBIR JAY SINGH TAKES THE REINS



                                AS NEW IALI PRESIDENT

            n a dazzling event attended by
            prominent  figures,  the  oath-tak-
        Iing ceremony for the India As-
        sociation of Long Island (IALI) took
        place at Nassau County’s Theodore
        Roosevelt Executive and Legislative
        Building. During this ceremony, var-
        ious elected officials swore in the es-
        teemed community leader, Jasbir Jay
        Singh, along with his team.
            Founded in 1978, the India Asso-
        ciation of Long Island (IALI) is one
        of the oldest nonprofit organizations,
        representing  the  Indo-American
        community on Long Island, New York.
            In a remarkable turn of events,
        Jasbir Jay Singh was elected as the
        new president of IALI, with no formal
        opposition. All other nominees with-
        drew their candidacies in recognition
        of Singh’s immense contribution to
        the community and his efforts to pre-
        serve the organization’s funds and
        foster unity within the IALI family.
            The event was graced by sever-
        al  distinguished  figures,  including
        Nassau County Comptroller Elaine
        Phillips, Town of North Hempstead
        Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Town of
        Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Sala-
        dino, Nassau County Commission on
        Human Rights Chairman Dr. Bobby
        K. Kalotee, Town of North Hemp-
        stead Clerk Ragini Srivastava, Town
        of Hempstead Clerk Kate Murray,
        and Legislator Rose Marie Walker,
        all of whom witnessed the ceremony
        and administered the oath to the new

            Addressing the audience, Jay
        Singh expressed his heartfelt grat-
