109 young men take diksha as monks at
BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha

total 109 youths took bless-
ings at the Diksha Mahot-

Mahant Swami Maharaj as they
left the worldly life to become
monks.
all those who have chosen
monkhood for the rest of their
life have taken a 3-year train-
ing at Sant Talim kendra of
BaPS Swaminarayan Sanstha
at Sarangpur (gujrat). out of
the youths who took diksha,
14 were foreign residents, 29
graduates, 14 postgraduates,
42 engineers, and 46 were
only child of their parents.
The diksha mahotsav was held
on the occasion of the 100th
birth anniversary of Pujya Pra-
mukh Swami maharaj.
One of the Diksharthi’s is Jain-
am Shah (Dadhichi Bhagat) who
was born in New York and whose
parents Pritam and Kavita Shah are
from Rajasthan (Pindwara) but set-
tled in Roslyn (New York).
Jainam (Dadhichi Bhagat) did
his schooling from Herricks High
School, graduated From Pratt in-
stitute with two degrees in architec-
ture and construction management.
He was working for an architecture
firm in Manhattan but left the job
to pursue monkhood.
Jainam’s sister Dr Shenika
Shah became the youngest captain
in the US army hospital. He is the
only son of his parents.
The diksha ceremony took
place with Vedic Mahapuja rituals.
The youths, their parents and rel-
atives also took part in the rituals.
Later, the parents wholeheartedly
offered their beloved sons for be-
coming sadhus in the presence of
Mahant Swami Maharaj.
