Sitar Vadan Concert Charms

music lovers enjoyed a mes-
Omerizing afternoon of Hin-
dustani classical music at the Nanuet
Library, featuring a captivating Sitar
Vadan concert. The event showcased
the legendary Padmashree Ustad
Shahid Parvez Khan, one of the
world’s leading sitar maestros, who
captivated the audience with his re-
markable talent.
The concert opened with warm
greetings and introductory remarks
that underscored the significance
of Indian classical music in preserv-
ing cultural traditions. This notable
event was organized through the
joint efforts of Arts from India and
Bharatiya Kala Kendra, Inc., a non-
profit dedicated to promoting Indian
culture in the U.S.

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, from
the renowned Etawah Gharana, is
known for his dedication to riyaz and
lyrical gayaki-ang, demonstrating his
exceptional sitar mastery. He was
accompanied by Ustad Kadar Khan,
founder of Kalvant Center New
York, whose rhythmic skills enriched
the performance.
