Former VP Venkaiah Naidu lauds the role of
Indian diaspora in growth story of US and India
Naidu also graced the 23rd Congress of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) and
inaugurated the annual Maha Sabhas of TANA at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia

enkaiah Naidu, the former Vice President
of India, has praised the Indian community
Vof the US for “working tirelessly and bring-
ing glory to their motherland, thereby contribut-
ing to the American growth story”. He addressed
an event on July 11 which was organized by the In-
dian community organizations in Washington DC.
While addressing the event Naidu said, “The
Indian diaspora has contributed richly to the
growth story of the US. The India- US relation-
ship is one of partnership, cooperation, and trust
in diverse areas, deepened by the values we share.”
“To me, as also to our countrymen, it is a mo-
ment of great pride to witness the success and
accomplishments of our fellow countrymen and
women who have excelled in various fields.
Your collective contribution has not only
brought glory to our motherland but has also
strengthened Indo-US relations in a big way,” he
added.
Naidu unequivocally emphasized the impor-
tance of conversing in and propagating the Telugu
language and urged the diaspora to feel pride in
using their mother tongue. He also reiterated the
need for India to reclaim its position as “Vishwa
Guru” and continue to spread its knowledge and
wisdom to the world.
In the US, the former VP also graced the
occasion of the 23rd Congress of the Telugu As-
sociation of North America (TANA) and inaugu-
rated the annual Maha Sabhas of TANA at the
Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia
followed by an address to the Telugu Diaspora.
The TANA Conference was held on July 7th,
8th, and 9th.
A prominent Indian political leader, Naidu
was presented with the Joint Legislative Resolu-
tion issued by the state of New Jersey, USA, in
honor of his public service and leadership at the
TANA event.
The Ambassador of India to the US, Taran-
jit Singh Sandhu, hosted Naidu at India House in
Washington DC, for a discussion on deepening bi-
lateral relations between the US and India.
