His innovations, such as the
SpeedCore system, have accelerated
construction timelines and improved safety standards nationwide. Varma also
received the T.R. Higgins Lectureship Award for his work.
A longtime AISC collaborator, Varma joined Purdue in 2004 and is now
considered a global expert in steel structure design.
