        Markham, ON
              ouncillor Amanda Yeung Col-
              lucci, Ward 6, Councillor for
CMarkham, has set up a $25,000
        student scholarship for York Universi-
ty to encourage students to study hard
and give back to society. As a gradu-
ate of York University, Collucci tells
her story of how she changed her own
        destiny through learning and shares
her understanding of education as not
being only about high grades, GPA,
books and homework, but also about
        dreams for families, children, young
        people and many others.
            According to Collucci, education
gives people the courage to pursue
their dreams, live a better life, be a
better person and contribute to soci-
ety. “I often say that businesses, big
and small, are the engine of the econ-
omy. Now I must add: Education is
the foundation of our society,” says
Collucci who called business owners Dr. Gordon Binsted, deputy provost of York University, Councillor Amanda Collucci and Sarah Bay-Cheng, Dean of AMPD, York University
and individuals to make their own
donations in support of capital fund- children and families. deputy provost of York University’s award will establish a lifetime schol-
