GOPIO Central Jersey Holds
New Executive Board Induction and
Networking Event in Plainsboro, NJ
n Thursday, April 3, 2025,
the GOPIO Central Jer-
Osey (GOPIO-CJ) Chapter
hosted its New Executive Board In-
duction Ceremony and Networking
Event at Jhopri Restaurant in Plains-
boro, New Jersey.
Amongst the attendees were
GOPIO life members, guests, and
local business entrepreneurs. The
Guest of Honor for the evening was
Hemant Marathe, Mayor of West
Windsor Township.
The event commenced with the
recital of the American National An-
them by Sia Dixit, followed by the
Indian National Anthem sung by all
attendees.
Sapna Mehta welcomed ev-
eryone, and a display of brief video
highlighting GOPIO’s history. Sudha
Kankanala then delivered a presen-
tation on the activities organized by
GOPIO-CJ over the past four years.
Outgoing President Kunal Meh-
ta extended his sincere appreciation
to all members for their support over
the last four years, particularly during
the challenging pandemic years. He
highlighted the accomplishments
achieved during his tenure.
Incoming President Nishith
Mehta shared his vision for the next
two years, pledging to elevate GO-
PIO-CJ’s initiatives to better serve
the Indian diaspora, especially new
immigrants who may lack knowledge
of the local system and traditions.
The new Executive Team was intro-
duced by the President Nishith Meh-
